Vintage 2013

Today at the end of August, we are sure that our harvest will be very small in quantity, down 30%. Spring having been cool and rainy, compromised pollination. July and August brought extremely good weather. We enjoyed a fine, hot summer with little rain (81 mm in 2 months) in south Medoc. Both the Merlot and the Cabernet grapes started to change colour around 15th August and the Petit Verdot finished the colour change on 28th August. September will determine the quality level of this vintage. In fact, we might get a pleasant surprise. We extend our sympathy to our unfortunate colleagues, whose vines were literally shredded by hail.
